President
Ed founded Nova-Habitat, the predecessor to Nova Ventures, in 1992. His background brings together real estate development, private equity investment, corporate strategy, and business development.
Before establishing the firm, Ed served as Director of Development at Marriott Corporation from 1983 to 1992, as part of the venture team that formed its senior living services division.
He earned his bachelor’s degree and MBA at Carnegie Mellon University.
Partner
Damon joined Nova Ventures as a partner in 2015. His background combines real estate development, land use law, and urban planning.
Before joining Nova, Damon was in the practice of law representing development organizations, builders, real estate investment trusts, and landowners. He began his career at the Montgomery County Planning Department, where he helped overhaul the County’s comprehensive zoning ordinance. He studied real estate finance at Georgetown University, law at St. Thomas University, and urban planning at Harvard University.
His legal and planning experience informs the firm’s approach to complex sites, entitlements, and community engagement.
